Concepts and ideas are travelers and yet current ideologies

try to fix them. Frozen, in shape and under artistic pretext, they rise to glorify an event, a historical moment or a precise power. Under changing perspectives (of history, context or positioning) statues become an anachronisms of collective identities, revealing inequalities and asynchronies.

[...] Right now [...] is conceived as an fictional essay  that explores the complicate relationship between memories, collective identities and foundational myths and with signs of fixation, in a time characterized by the apparent immediacy and its emphasis on the eternal here and now. Through accumulation of images, objects and layers of information, a narrative insists on its own contradicting nature, caught between the Borges's hypermnesia and Orwell's imperative oblivion.

Mirando desde el atalaya

Looking from the Watchtower”   was born from the reactivation of a workshop that had been silent for years, threatened by urban pressure and speculative policies. There, through a slow and complex process of manually stretching fine silver, I create threads that become the basis for small sculptures. This patient work allows me to resist the accelerated and impersonal logic of industrial production. Each piece is both memory and transformation: a gesture of healing and a way of opposing the power narratives that attempt to erase spaces and experiences. “Mirando desde el Atalaya”  nace de la reactivación de un taller que llevaba años en silencio, amenazado por la presión urbanística y las políticas de especulación. Allí, a través de un proceso lento y complejo de estiramiento manual de plata fina, genero hilos que se convierten en la base de pequeñas esculturas. Ese trabajo paciente me permite resistir la lógica acelerada e impersonal de lo industrial. Cada pieza es a la...
