CONTINGENCIES CONTINGENCIES, Public Commission, Mislata, Spain. UNBROKEN (Iconoclash) Biennale Internationale de Casablanca

Unbroken (Iconoclash) 3rd Bienal Casablanca, Morocco, 2016 “Unbroken” is conceived as a fictional essay film addressing human perception of and interaction with personal and collective memory in relation, or in opposition, to history. A complex and twisted editing of images, together with the sound of rewritten fragments based on George Orwell’s 1984 and José Luis Borges’ Funes the Memorious, draft a narrative of memory, in contradicting ways, caught between hypermnesia and the wish to erase everything -set in a time where the future has already past and the past continues to be present. Video-Essay.
